Villa Emma
Built alongside Casa Churro, Villa Emma was part of a larger property development that was subdivided into two independent homes, combining a development approach with the care of a custom build. The project was shaped primarily by its challenging hillside site, requiring extensive granite excavation, retaining structures, and infrastructure before construction could begin. Each level of the home sits on its own platform, cascading down the slope to capture expansive ocean views. Material shortages following the pandemic made sourcing and scheduling large concrete pours particularly challenging, but working with a network of local suppliers and trades allowed us to keep the project moving. The result is a home that feels naturally embedded in the hillside and makes the most of its extraordinary setting.
