Casa Wabi

Built on a particularly steep lot, Casa Wabi required extensive engineering and a substantial retaining wall at the base of the property. The pool and patio were originally designed around the surrounding views, but a neighboring building constructed after completion changed the privacy of the space. We responded by creating a high stone wall that enclosed the pool area, turning an unexpected challenge into a beautiful architectural feature. The experience reinforced an important principle we bring to every project: when building in a changing environment, it’s essential to consider not only the views and conditions you have today, but how the surrounding landscape may evolve over time.
